I’m in two minds about this product (XOLORspace 23031 HDMI switcher 3×1). I’ve only had it one day and already ran into a bunch of stumbling blocks. I’ll break it down into pros/cons/neutral to help others make up their mind on purchasing.

    – Can drive a passive 7.5 meter HDMI cable (Pro2 18GBPS 7.5m HL18G7.5M cable) without issue. I’m sending a 4K/60hz HDR 4:2:2 12bit signal to my projector – no drop outs and no flickers. This part impressed me, as I figured if anything, the output port might be lacking.
    – It can detect an input signal and automatically switch input ports. This doesnt seem to work all the time, but it saves using the remote some of the time.

    – It does not work with a 10 meter Ruipro 4K active cable (connected to its output port). The same Ruipro cable works without issue between the same sources and projector (Epson TW9400) if the HDMI switcher is not in the chain.
    – On the first day of operation, I’ve already found it to become unresponsive twice. Which requires one to power it off and then back on to respond again. When unresponsive it will not react to the remote control or to the buttons on the unit itself (either the power button or input selector button). It will also not send a signal.

    – With the great specs I expected it to be able to handle 18Gbps signals. The included manual states the maximum bandwidth is 13.5Gbps. Unsure if this is a misprint. As stated above it does pass 4K/60Hz HDR 4:2:2: 12bit (without audio) just fine in my application.

Personally I’m not sure if this will stay in my set up. I’m going to delay installing cable runs in the walls before sorting out what the go is with stability going forward, or if I can find another switcher that works with the Ruipro active cables.

I would not recommend this product based on my limited time with it.

Ruipro Fibre Optic cables should not be used this way, normally its source to display direct.
We send this message with every cable:

      Long HDMI cable installation:
Always test all cables before a wall or floor instal.
If a wall instal always feed a long cable “down wall”- do not pull upwards.
Do not join Ruipro in HDMI wall plates or place in a chain of HDMI devices.
Do not pull cables by the plugs or it may damage the cable.
Place a long HDMI cable in conduit to make it easier to instal & upgrade in the future.
Keep dust cap on until use.
