Note:
These work with older Apple units too but its just the audio that doesn’t. It will work out of the newer Thunderbolt port to a TV, and make sure you go to settings and select the audio to output.
To Use: Activate display mirroring in system preferences, make sure to also hit the audio settings and select the TV source for output. Once done the TV remote control raises and lowers volume. Can hook the Apple MacBook Pro up to a receiver too, switch audio outputs in the DVD players setting using what Apple listed as ‘internal HDMI out’ and get Dolby Digital 5.1 audio that sounds as good as HDMI.
